Frequently Asked Questions

What is nervous system regulation?

Nervous system regulation refers to supporting your body’s ability to shift between states of stress and calm in a healthy way. When your nervous system is regulated, you’re better able to respond to daily stressors without feeling overwhelmed or depleted.

How does this product help support regulation?

This product uses guided sensory tools (such as sound, breath, or rhythm-based practices) designed to help gently cue the body into a calmer state. These practices work by engaging natural physiological pathways associated with relaxation and recovery.

Do I need any experience to use it?

No experience is needed. The tools are designed to be simple, accessible, and easy to integrate into your daily routine—whether you’re completely new to nervous system practices or already familiar with them.

How often should I use it?

You can use it as often as you need. Some people use it daily as part of a routine, while others turn to it in specific moments when they feel stressed, overstimulated, or disconnected.

Can I use this alongside other wellness practices?

Yes. This product is designed to complement other wellness routines such as meditation, therapy, breathwork, yoga, or somatic practices.

When will I notice a difference?

Many people report feeling a shift in their state during or shortly after use. Over time, consistent use may help build a stronger sense of ease and resilience in daily life.

Is this a replacement for therapy or medical care?

No. This product is intended as a supportive wellness tool and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you have specific health concerns, please consult a qualified professional.

Can I use this if I feel very stressed or overwhelmed?

Yes. The tools are specifically designed to be accessible during moments of stress. You can start wherever you are, there is no “right state” required before beginning.

Is this suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. Everything is designed with simplicity in mind so users can engage without prior knowledge of nervous system theory or somatic practices.

How do I get the best results?

Consistency and ease of use are key. Think of it less as something you have to “do right” and more as a supportive practice you can return to regularly.

What if it doesn’t work for me?

Everyone’s nervous system responds differently. If something doesn’t resonate, it may take experimenting with different tools or timing. The goal is to find what feels supportive for your system, not to force a single method.

What comprises the Human Nervous System?

The human nervous system has four divisions: Central, Peripheral, Autonomic, Somatic.

Within the Autonomic NS, there is the sympathetic NS (fight or flight) and the parasympathetic NS (rest and restore). The ANS is often known as the automatic. This refers to the ANS's bailiwick; it's focus includes heart rate, breath, digestion, temp control, and other functions. The ANS stays awake when you sleep and makes sure you still breath, etc.

Why does SBTK focus on the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS)?

SBTK focuses upon stress relief and the abatement of anxiety, two great threats to human health.

Generally, anxiety arises when the sympathetic NS (fight or flight) is overloaded. When we are faced with non-safe or threatening circumstances, we automatically flip into the SNS's fight or flight mode. Originally evolved for running from the saber-tooth tiger, the SNS has become the repository for modern-day stress and trauma, and cannot respond in a healthy manner with the volume of reactivity. This causes anxiety. Anxiety may be treated with a strong parasympathetic response. This is what SBTK focuses upon, through the use of sound, breath, and movement.
